Cape Town Osteopaths

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a system of primary healthcare that uses manual ‘hands-on’ treatment techniques to treat disorders originating from the neuro-musculo-skeletal system.

It recognises that the human body is a single functional unit where the component parts work together to achieve function, mobility and health.

Osteopathy is an integrative system of healthcare and does not follow the reductionist model of simply treating the part that hurts or over-simplifying it to a single tissue diagnosis to provide short term symptomatic relief.

Osteopathy relies upon the use of causation based diagnosis and treatment i.e. TREAT THE CAUSE, NOT THE SYMPTOMS.
